World Environment Day: Consumer Insights for Driving Awareness & Action
World Environment Day 2024
World Environment Day is a global initiative for environmental protection. It’s dedicated to raising awareness and promoting the necessity of sustainable coexistence with nature. This day plays a crucial role in uniting individuals, communities, and governments, encouraging reflection on environmental issues, and fostering a sense of collective responsibility.
We understand the imperative of adopting a lifestyle that deeply respects and prioritizes our environment for the sake of humanity's future prosperity. Therefore, OnePoll, in collaboration with Furthr, embarked on a journey to delve deeper into how much consumers really know and care about environmental practices and objectives, both personally and professionally. Our team of global research specialists conducted a survey among 1,000 consumers from each of the UK, US, and Australia between May 15th and May 21st, 2024, to gather these insights.
Working with environmental experts Paul Dunca and Margot Bloch from Furthr, as well as SWNS environmental journalist Lauren Beavis, we took these results and developed a webinar called: The race to protect the planet starts with a single carbon footprint - On your marks - Get set - Reduce. In this piece we talked through key differences in the knowledge, awareness and passions across each of the three markets, identified the realities of the environmental aims of the G20 alongside each country's own goals and showed how we can each harness the power of environmental storytelling from social media content and sharing, to mass-media programmes and publications.
